Keegan Brain is set to have a busy few days next week, as he prepares to race in one of the support categories at the Bathurst 1000.

Brain, a Lidsdale native that works in Bathurst, is set to contest the Mount Panorama round of the TCR Australian Touring Car Series and he'll be one of three locals to drive in a support category alongside Brad Shiels (TCR) and Brad Schumacher (GT World Challenge).
While Brain has raced competitively at Mount Panorama before, this time it will be extra special.
"It's pretty special to be racing at Mount Panorama on Bathurst 1000 weekend in anything," he said.
"The TCR series is a quality series with some great drivers. Chaz Mostert, Michael Caruso, Dean Canto and the like.
"It's certainly exciting with a real quality field and I'll be racing against Brad Shields from Bathurst as well, so that's great."
Mostert is the current TCR championship leader, while also being fourth in the Supercars Championship, heading into the final round at Mount Panorama.
For someone that hasn't raced in the TCR series this year, Brain said a top 10 finish would be "awesome".
"We think it is possible," he said.
"We are going into it with a competitive package with Purple Sector Racing. It should be a pretty quick combination."

He'll take the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf GTI in the Purple Sector Racing, driving in a team with Lachlan Mineeff.
Brain explained that the car is purpose-built for racing.
"They don't have a lot of the road car left. Basically the chassis and the engine is all that remains," he said.
"They're purpose built racing cars. The idea of the car is basically you can finish at Bathurst and then if you want to race at Silverstone in World TCR Series, you can just transport it there, ready to go and it'll be compatible for racing there."
While he lives in Lidsdale, Brain works at Regional West Construction, which is based on Corporation Avenue at Robin Hill.
Brain will enjoy a test day down at Phillip Island this week, before returning to Bathurst to prepare himself for the TCR race at Mount Panorama.
TCR will hold two practice sessions on Tuesday, November 30, followed by two qualifying sessions on Wednesday, December 1.
The first TCR race will be held on Thursday, December 2, at 1.35pm, followed by the second the day later at 12.30pm.
The final TCR race will be held on the Saturday - the day before the Bathurst 1000 - which will get underway at 2pm.
