The Wallerawang Baseball Association is getting ready to hit it out of the park once again.
Members are getting their baseball bats at the ready and are gearing up for another big season and are currently looking for more keen players to sign up.
Baseball has been running for over a decade at Lake Wallace baseball precinct and prior to that the club played in the Central West competition as well as the Lithgow District Competition.
Committee member and treasurer Luke Smith said the baseball competition has been running for a number of years.
"Due to COVID this season we will see a modified shortened season to try and limit disruptions while complying with the COVID rules and restrictions," he said.
The senior baseball competition for teens and adults 14 years and over runs from January 23 to April 17.
The Association is also looking to start a T-Ball youth competition for kids ageing from four to 13 that will be separated into age categories and will be held on Tuesday afternoons at Lake Wallace baseball diamond during the first school semester in 2022.

Smith had many reasons for families around the Lithgow LGA to join the Association.
"Baseball is a family friendly sport that does not take up all of the day and it is great game to play and you are consistently in the action at all times," he said.
Smith said he wanted to see a number of sports thrive in the area, since Lithgow was very well known for its sporting talent.
"It is very important to see sports thrive in our local area as it's beneficial for both your mental and physical health and teaches kids resilience and how to win and lose gracefully," he said.
Smith had a number or reasons for why he enjoyed baseball, and he hoped that if more people joined the association they would all come to love it just as much.
"What isn't there to enjoy about the great game of baseball? It's fast paced, you are consistently involved, it takes skill, it's challenging, it's a fun team environment, is family friendly, and only takes two hours," he said.
"I hope people take up the opportunity to continue to build on what has been a successful competition running out at the Lake Wallace baseball precinct and continue to build this great game."
