Following the yearly scarifying of greens at the Lithgow Golf Club the Saturday field of golfers looked divided on the extremely slow greens that follows the procedure.

There were those that thrive with the conditions while others really struggle getting the ball up to the hole.
Again a number of good scores were recorded in the stableford event with the best coming out of B grade, a 43 by Dean Stafford (15).
A golfer that covers a lot of distance off the tee had his radar working to get back to the green to score well.
On his day he is a way better golfer than his scores suggest.
Runner up on 40 points on a countback was Greg Guest (13) with Kyle Egan (10) coming in with the best scratch score with 30 points.
A grade also saw some outstanding scores with best being Ian Downey (7) on 42 points.
Downey who can go low shot a round of 73 off the stick which consisted of three birdies.
Runner up for the second week in a row was Anthony Oldfield (5) who has been in consistent form in recent weeks. He finished with a score of 38 points on a countback.
Best scratch score went to Steve Hall (scratch) with a par round 72.

The C grade winner was Ian Northey (35) who put it all together for a score of 38 points on a countback.
Runner up was Carol Osborne (29) also on 38 points. She is one of the big improvers and is hitting good form at the right time with the Women's Championships which started this week.
Dave Muir (21) recorded the best scratch score with 15 points.
Nearest to the pins were Carol Osborne, Gary Wallace, Kyle Egan, Greg Dykes and Ian Downey.
Vouchers cut out on 38 points on a countback and went to Nathan Marshall, Brendan Van Veen, Ken Mitchell, Rod Clarke and Les Goldspink.
Saturday's event (November 13) is a two ball aggregate.
Wednesday nine hole competition (Nov 3):
The winner with 24 points was Jeff Geddes.
Runner up was Ken Durie on 23 points and in third place was Greg Dykes on 22 points.
Vouchers cut out on 18 points on a countback and went to Darren Healey, John Emms, Geoff Houlison, Rob Peachman, Carlos Garibotto, Ken Mitchell, Kevin Casey, Peter Williams, Warren Kennedy, Laurie Northey, Michael Bright and Steve McCann.
Nearest to the pins were Carlos Garibotto and Lleyton Guest.
Members are reminded that the Lithgow Open will be staged on December 12 with some of the best golfers in the surrounding districts keen to take the title from the host of good golfers that Lithgow boast.
