COVID-19 has caused many disruptions to the usual operations of NSW public schools. It has greatly impacted teaching and learning, excursions and extra- curricular activities including sport. One such disruption impacted on Wallerawang Public School's Jaxxon Woolsey.
Jaxxon had qualified for the NSWPSSA State Cross Country trials which were due to be held on Monday, 18th of October at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek. However due to COVID-19 and NSW Health guidelines, Jaxxon was unable to participate.
Although understandably disappointed, Jaxxon's spirits were not dampened and he has set his sights on qualifying for next year's trials.
Jaxxon qualified for the NSWPSSA Cross Country trials due to consistent qualification and success at school, District and Western trials. He was Wallerawang's only Cross Country qualifier this year and the school's first in many years for this sport.
Congratulations Jaxxon. Aim high and we hope that you qualify for these trials in the future.
