The presentation which took part on Friday, October 8 at Queen Elizabeth Park saw ex-president Noela Williams, current president Joy Smith and secretary Sue Holt came together to hand over the money.

"We raised the money through stalls and our little functions, we had accumulated the money throughout the year and had enough to give to those they need it," Ms Williams said.

"At our general meeting we decide who gets the money, some write letters and explain what they will use the money for."

Tall Tree Arboretum workers Bruce Ryan and John Zeni were grateful for receiving the cheque for their business.

"We sincerely welcome Quota participants to come and enjoy our space when they are fully able to," Mr Zeni said.

Mr Ryan said that the money would be spent on the African Safari section of the gardens.

"We will buy lots of African plants, trees and shrubs, we are also looking at buying ground covers we just have to source them out because they help keep weeding down," he said.

"We will get raised beds in an eye shape because we want visitors to be able to walk around the garden."

The Tall Tree Arboretum has been through a lot since they first got started years ago.

"We started in the drought, then had floods, then saw another two bad droughts and now we are starting to get good again," Mr Ryan said.

"So thank you so much for this kind donation, it will really help us out."
