Michael Harvey Atkins, 32, had boarded a bus in Lithgow to get home to Bathurst, about 3.30pm on June 27 this year.
However Atkins fell asleep during his journey, and two hours later woke up when the bus arrived in Dubbo.

Atkins approached the bus driver, to enquire about his whereabouts, when he was told he was at the end of the line for the bus route.
According to court documents, an angry Atkins began to verbally abuse the driver, who told him to gather his belongings and leave the bus.
While the driver began to collect his things to give to him, Atkins picked up a rock - about 20 centimetres in diameter - and threw it at the windscreen, causing it to shatter in place.
Atkins then left the scene with his belongings.
Police arrived and was given the version of events by the driver, along with Atkins' bus ticket.
Later, at about 9pm, Atkins attended the Dubbo Police Station asking for help with accommodation for the night.
Police recognised him via the description given by the driver, and he was arrested for malicious damage. Police said Atkins told officers he was angry about sleeping through his stop and threw the rock at the bus to release his frustration.
However, during a search of Atkins, police also found a five millimetre long pink Buprenorphine strip.
Atkins told officers it had been prescribed to him over eight months ago, but could not explain why it was not in its original packaging.
Police said Atkins also couldn't provide a prescription or name of a treating doctor, but said he was no longer prescribed the substance.
In Dubbo Local Court, Atkins pleaded guilty to destroy or damage property and possessing a prohibited drug.
Magistrate Gary Wilson fined Atkins $1000 and ordered him to pay $1250 in compensation to Swan Hill Bus Biz.
