Ten year-old Emily Highley said goodbye to her luscious locks on July 16 and had them donated to Hair with Heart. The charity helps to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to medical conditions.
She raised money with donation boxes at a number of local businesses including EllieKats Cafe and with her hairdresser at 34 Main Street and through her Hair with Heart fundraising page.
Initially Emily had a fundraising goal of $1000 which was well exceeded with the support of the Lithgow community and she ended up raising a total of $2214.
