Services Australia General Manager Hank Jongen said that the company does provide an essential service, delivering key coronavirus support to the Australian community.

"Customers should adhere to the local government requirements and only attend their nearest service centre if absolutely necessary," he said.

"As Services Australia is an essential service, the agency continues to provide a walk-in service for community members with a vulnerability or for people in crisis."

Mr Jongen said where possible, he would encourage people who can use Services Australia's online services to do so.

In line with NSW public health orders, customers who live in Greater Sydney are not restricted from accessing services at agency sites outside Greater Sydney.

The public health orders relevant to movement between Greater Sydney and the rest of New South Wales are outlined in the Public Health (COVID-19 Temporary Movement and Gathering Restrictions) Order 2021.
