All councillors have been contacted and each will get their chance to speak on why they believe they should be voted back in to represent the community.
Next up is Cr Stephen Lesslie and this is what he had to say:
1. Do you plan to stand for re-election?
Yes
2. If yes, then why? / If no, then why not?
I haven't completed what I set out to do, which is to change the culture of Lithgow Council so that it is accountable to the elected representatives of the City and through them to the citizens of Lithgow LGA.
3. If you are re-elected, what would your main priorities be for the next term?
I intend to keep asking the difficult questions and raising matters that are kept secret.
4. Do you feel content with what you've achieved on council?
No. The culture of the Council is too entrenched.
I have been unable to convince Council management that they need to be more open with Councillors and the citizens of the Lithgow local government area.

5. How long have you been on council?
One term. Last year this Government ill-advisedly extended the council term by one year to five years when there was no Covid lock-down and is now having an election when there is a lock-down.
Despite elections costing about $150,000 this Council term is only for three years.
No explanation has been given as to why this Council cannot be for the normal four year term.
