But despite a home crowd the boys in blue and white weathered the Storm to a 4-2 defeat.
"It was disappointing the way we played we just couldn't string three or four passes together, we really struggled that way," Storm coach David Marshall said.
"St Pat's wanted it more in my mind, they dictated because they wanted to win more and our blokes were a step off the mark I thought," he said.
"We really struggled to control the ball, I thought their [St Pat's] front three played really well, they moved around a lot whereas our guys were pretty stagnant."
Marshall said as a whole playing group his side performed "way below the mark" they were capable of.
"We just didn't have the intensity and we had blokes out there who didn't put in 100 per cent."
He gave full credit to St Pat's on their deserving win and said Storm needed an attitude adjustment heading into semis next week.
"We've got some thinking to do next week we need to change our attitudes big time, we face St Pat's again in Bathurst.
"I think we were quite confident going into Saturdays game because especially last time we played them with three or four people out and we still had a 2-all draw and the time before that we won 6-1, we hadn't been beaten all year.
"We've got to regroup next week for the major semi, the good thing is we've still got two bites of the cherry now we need to turn our season around with just our attitude more than anything and hopefully that will begin next weekend again," he said.
"Hopefully next week we get the win and a home grand final."
