The Lithgow Mercury went down to the boys training session on Tuesday afternoon, July 6 to see how preparations for the final matches were going.
Cian O'Regan in the under 16s squad said his side had picked up momentum after a slow start to the competition, while young brother Liam O'Regan said his under 14s team had unfortunately suffered a lot of injuries.
"We started well but lately we have been dropping, so hopefully we can pick it back up towards the end of the season," Liam said.
The boys only have four rounds left, with the under 14s having a bye for one of the rounds.
"We are on track to make the finals, so that is our goal and we plan on working hard to do it," Cian said.
Fullback for the under 16s side Tallan Egan said the toughest side they face would have to be Bloomfield.
"They're a strong side with plenty of good players," he said.
Under 13s lock, Archie Morris agreed that Bloomfield was his teams strongest opponent.

But for Liam's side, he had a different answer.
"It would definitely be St Pats, they have all played pretty well this season and are hard to beat," he said.
Egan, who has played footy for 11 years said that it was important his side win the next few rounds to make the finals.
"We want to start having a crack," Cian said.
Morris, who has played for seven years said his team was on track to make the finals.
"We are running third, so hopefully we an keep it up," he said.
"I love playing with my mates and just having fun, so it's a great sport."
Liam said he love the competitiveness and the toughness of the game while his brother Cian said that he has played for seven years now and playing footy was one of his favourite things to do.
"I don't know what it is about the sport but I just absolutely love it."
