"We have been struggling in the first half of the season with injury and gelling together with having a nearly complete different side," coach Brad Luka said.
Workmen's have run out of luck following last year's strong performance as their results show narrow defeats and draws on the scoreboard.
"We have worried so much about defending and not losing games, that we have forgotten how to win," Luka said.
He said the overall competition was strong with the top three teams; Orange Waratahs, Dubbo Bulls and Oranga Spurs dominating.
"They are very dominate at the moment but I can see one of the teams lower on the table winning the grand final," he said.
A night match on June 18 saw Lithgow take on arch rivals Panorama FC at Bathurst's Proctor Park.
Despite the disappointment of a 2-0 defeat, Luka said his squad played well with a mixture of players from across the Club.
"We had four players from our grand final win 18 months ago in Friday's team so it was an overall good club effort," he said.
The win sealed Panorama's third win of the season and its second against Lithgow.
Considering the rivalry between the two clubs, Panorama coach Brent Osborne said the win against Lithgow was extra special.
"There's few sweeter things in life then Panorama Football Club beating Lithgow Workmen's Club," he said.
"It was nice and it was good to get back in the winners circle."
Luka said stand out players in recent week were Kade Inwood, Rye Gibbs-Minner, Dom Smith, Riley Dukes and Brad Kay.
"The stand outs have to be honestly the players that have been stepping up from other grades," he said.
"At one stage we had eight WPL players and these guys have helped in turning this season around and the squad is slowly getting back to full strength."
Luka said he could see a turn in form coming and he was looking forward to playing second placed Orange Waratahs this weekend at home.
"We will be working on scoring goals and pressing the teams to win games from this stage on now we have the team to win games, we just need to start believing again," he said.
Kick off is at 2pm and spectators are encouraged to come and support keeping COVID restrictions in mind.
