Recently club managers and board members were recognised for their work to support the community after operating as an evacuation centre during the Gospers Mountain fire in December 2019.
The Lithgow Workies Club received a highly commended award in the Bushfire Support Category at the Clubs NSW Community Awards Night held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on Thursday, May 20.
Chairman Howard Fisher said all Club members, the board management and staff should be very proud of this achievement.

"Along with all emergency personnel, volunteers, community groups and others for their outstanding contribution to the community during those extreme times," he said.
The Club was also awarded the highly commended Business Award in the Resilient Australia Awards 2020 for their community bushfire support.
Club manager Geoff Wheeler said he was proud of the club for getting this recognition and being there for the community in a time of crisis.
