A 13-year-old boy has sustained neck, arm and suspected spinal injuries when his go kart collided with a kangaroo at Lithgow City Raceway on Sunday.

The patient, along with his mother, was airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition under ongoing observation from CareFlight's clinical team.
According to information from Careflight, the teenager lost consciousness from the impact.
CareFlight's Rapid Response Helicopter landed at the Lithgow raceway at about 1.55pm on Sunday afternoon (May 9). NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment for the patient.
CareFlight's specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the patient, including an ultrasound, and administered pain relief.
The clinical team prepared the boy for flight transfer to hospital, while undertaking spinal precautions.
