In April this year, detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad's Corrective Services Investigation Unit established Strike Force Moana to investigate an allegation of inappropriate sexual behaviour by a male correctional officer.
This came following a referral from a correctional facility in the state's Central West.
Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives arrested a 28-year-old man at Lithgow Police Station earlier today Friday, May 7.

Police will allege in court that the man attempted to instigate sexual activity with a female employee - then aged 52 - while returning from a prisoner escort between August and September 2019.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Lithgow Local Court on Thursday, June 24.
The man has been suspended by Corrective Services NSW.
Investigations under Strike Force Moana are continuing.
