Armed with a new driver and a new set of irons, Paul Stewart did not waste any time in putting them to good use when he recorded the best stableford score in Saturday's Lithgow Golf Club event.
He picked up his new irons on the Tuesday and they have been an immediate success when he recorded a score of 38 points to take out B grade.
It was an unusual day of results as apart from Stewart (10), Don Lovett (14) and Justin Nelson (scr) no one else bettered their handicap.
The greens were in immaculate condition as is the course and it was strange that there were not more good scores.
Runner up to Stewart was Lovett with 37 points while the best B grade scratch score went to Graham Dean (10) with 27 points.
In A grade, one of the club's most consistent golfers is Justin Nelson and again showed his talents by winning the voucher with a score of 37 points.
Runner up on 36 points was Kobe Hunter (9) and the best scratch score was Andrew Burton with 35 points.
In C grade, the voucher winner was Dave Muir (19) on 35 points (20) with the runner up being Mitchell Wallace (20) on 34 points.
Best scratch score went to Ray Thompson with a score of 15 points.
Voucher winners were Carlos Garibotto, Ken Mitchell, Blake Goldspink, Paul Bosman, Gary Wallace and Greg Jackson. Vouchers cut out on 34 points ocb.
Nearest to the pins were Frank Mantle, Andrew Burton, Steve Hall, Justin Nelson and Greg Jackson.
