He picked up his new irons on the Tuesday and they have been an immediate success when he recorded a score of 38 points to take out B grade.
It was an unusual day of results as apart from Stewart (10), Don Lovett (14) and Justin Nelson (scr) no one else bettered their handicap.
The greens were in immaculate condition as is the course and it was strange that there were not more good scores.
Runner up to Stewart was Lovett with 37 points while the best B grade scratch score went to Graham Dean (10) with 27 points.
