The opening round was against the Kandos District Waratah girls, the Tiaratahs and while it was a tough match the more experienced Kandos side came away with the win.
Bears going down 36-4, the Lithgow side is hoping to take both the positives and negatives from this match and turn it around in the second round.

Other league tag results included Portland defeating Oberon 12-10 in a nail biter, while CSU defeated Orange Warriors 14-10.
In the men's football Portland smashed Oberon 30-6 and the Orange Warriors beat CSU 14-12.
The Bears men had the bye and will start their official campaign next week.
