Following their round one loss to Panorama FC at home, Workies again stepped out onto Marjorie Jackson playing fields for round two against Parkes Cobras.
Hoping for a win, Workmen's weren't quite there as they ended full-time with a 2-all draw.
Coach Brad Luka said it was a promising match although Parkes opened the scoring in the first half.
"It was a close game in the first half, in the second half we fought back with myself scoring and equalising," he said.
Luka said the match changed when goalkeeper Sam Johnson was sent off and gave away a penalty.
"Parkes went up 2-1, even with us being a player short we were the team that should of won," he said.
Jordhan Fordham put Workmen's back in the game scoring an equaliser from a free kick.
"His effort in the central midfield was there for the whole 90 minutes, we just couldn't find the back of the net again," Luka said.
Luka also commended Andrew Fawbert for stepping up in goals and his new back line in Peter Bourke, Brett Matthews, Aizen Takahira and Daniel Stern.
"The way we played and dominated with a man short needs to be credited," he said.
He said his squad were working on adapting to the different styles of teams they're coming up against.
"We're also working on our defence and gelling as we have a few new players in the side," he said.
Workmen's will take on Orange Waratahs at Waratah Sport Complex in Orange at 5.15pm on Saturday, April 24.
