Eleven of Lithgow's most talented athletes competed at the 2021 NSW State Championships on the weekend of March 20 and 21.
A stand out performance from Emeric Tauolo Fuamatu saw him come second in the shot put, naming him in the NSW team for the Australian Little Athletics Championships to be held in Melbourne in April.
Fuamatu has been in the spotlight after previously competing at the State Junior Athletics Championships where he qualified for the National Junior Championships which will be held in Sydney in April.
The rest of the young guns were going for gold as they battled it out at Sydney Olympic Park's athletic centre in torrential rain.
Ebony Pender, Ryan Wells, Xara Gill, Beau Gill, Elka Lee, Jaxxon Woolsey, Dustin Beckett, Isaac Beckett and Chase Nightingale all competed over the weekend in a range of events including shot put, discuss, running, high jump and hurdles.
