Abby Wilson has been selected in the 2021 Women's National Development Squad (NDS).
It was announced last Thursday that the Lithgow hockey player would make an appearance in the squad for her third year in a row.
Wilson says she thinks her selection came from the 2020 Super Camp in Perth.
"There weren't too many other opportunities for selectors to see me due to COVID," she said.
The NDS selection pushes her on the fringe of selection for the Hockeyroos squad and a contender to represent Australia in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2022 World Cup and 2024 Paris Olympics.

Wilson said being in the NDS was the squad below the Hockeyroos, opening a number of doors for her.
"It means I can be given chances to train with the Hockeyroos or VAA's which I am going to do on Sunday (March 21) in Perth," she said.
She said she felt thankful to still be given the opportunity to potentially play for Australia.
Wilson wanted to thank her coaches, family and friends for their continuous support in following her hockey dreams.
