This biographical drama tells the story of Laurence Stephen Lowry and his artistic skills with his many paintings which depict the working-class neighbourhood of Pendlebury in Lancashire.
He spends his day as a rent collector but at night, he pursues his artistic talent in the attic of his home which he shares with his cantankerous and bedridden mother.
He is her devoted carer but finds it exasperating by her mood swings and refusal to take his art seriously.

This classic story begins with scenes in Calcutta, India where Isabel runs an orphanage. She is asked to go to New York to meet her wealthy benefactor, Theresa Young, who offers to donate $20 million for the orphanage.
When Theresa invites Isabel to her daughter's wedding, things take a turn with a twist.
The rest of the story is shrouded with secrecy and mystery and Isabel has to make a decision that will change all of their lives forever.
