La Salle's year seven food technology students got to have their first practical cooking lesson this week and showed their impressive skills.
Food technology teacher Mrs Holgate said she was very impressed with their enthusiasm and ability to learn new tasks in the kitchen.
"They showed great maturity and awareness of the health and safety issues that go with working in a kitchen," she said.
Mrs Holgate said the class was a delight to teach and she looked forward to spending the rest of the year with them.
"I am sure these students will be able to take what they have learnt from the class and prepare their families a delicious home made apple crumble this weekend," she said.
