Since Behan spent seasons 2012-14 as a Tiger in Group 10, he's played for Bathurst Panthers, represented Western Division, been captain-coach of St Pat's, lined up in the front row for Workies and had intended to co-coach Lithgow's 2020 premier league outfit before COVID-19 led to the competition's cancellation.

As for the Tigers, they no longer play in Group 10 but are the defending Mid West League Cup champions.

But just as the Tigers were happy to have Behan in the past, they're happy to have him back in their pack once more.

"He's been around and played for a few different clubs but he's originally from Oberon and he's back living in Oberon," Tigers coach Dallas Booth said.

"He's young fella is playing juniors for Oberon so he wants to be involved.

"He's been to every training run and he's obviously coached first grade teams before, so he's been making my job easier, he's been running some drills as well as myself."

As well as his knowledge of the sport helping at training, Booth expects Behan's on-field leadership to lift some of the younger Tigers forwards.

It will help to fill the gap left by second rower Dave Sellers, who has made the switch to Bathurst Panthers this season.

"We've got a couple of really good young forwards coming through, blokes like Ray Sargent and Charlie Bailey to name a couple, and Greg's experience will be invaluable to those guys," Booth said.

"It's really good to have him here."

In the main there has not been much change to Oberon's 2020 premiership winning squad and Booth is excited about what lies ahead.

"We've had really good numbers, a majority of our players from last year are hanging around, there's one or two who won't be there, but then there's one or two new guys," the coach said.

"Everyone is excited and just happy to be back into it I guess.

"We will again be locals, there's a couple of young fellas who had gone and played under 18s elsewhere who have come back.

"It's really exciting, we've had 20 plus blokes at training every week."
