Lane said he was very proud of himself for getting selected in the side as fullback.
"I put in a lot of hard work and a lot of good players tried out and were unlucky not to make the side," he said.
"I was very keen to give myself the challenge of playing in a higher level of footy."
Lane has been playing footy for around 12 years, starting of fat the Wallerawang Warriors before moving to the Lithgow Storm with the Wallerawang and Lithgow teams combining in under 14's. Lane then progressed through to the Wolves side.
For Lane, this wasn't his first run with the Rams side, having tried out in the under 16's but was unsuccessful in making the final squad.
"Training has been quite intense and and enjoyable, learning and enhancing heaps of individual skills and team tactics through the help of great coaching staff," he said.
Most of the boys Lane remembered from the trials in under 16's but this was his first time playing alongside them.

His first hit out with the squad couldn't have gone better with a 24-10 win over Illawarra.
"Our first match against Illawarra was quite tough however our effort was very good in defence and our attack was a solid whole team effort which resulted in us scoring four tries," he said.
One of those tries scored by Lithgow's Half Back Cooper Egan.
"This saw Illawarra only score two tries leaving the score 24-10 with our 18's Rams team kicking the season off with a win," Lane said.
While Lane said he had a 'solid' performance, there were still plenty of areas that needed attention to help him further develop and take his footy to the next level.
"The main goal is obviously to try and make the finals but also just to wear the jersey with pride and represent the values that the Rams uphold every time we put on the jersey," he said.
