Abigail Tiglao Morcom, Giada Cioni, Jasmin Jagdon Baranal, Cheryl Lynn Harris, Lobsang Oser Norratso, Adil Quenjel, Ravi Prakash Reddy Gani and Pradit Thumthiang were all welcomed by the community at the annual Australia Day celebrations at Queen Elizabeth Park.
Each of the new citizens stated their pledge, received their Australian citizenship certificate and a native plant.
New citizen Giada Cioni has been in Lithgow since she first came to Australia five years ago from Italy.
"I love that Lithgow is a small community, everyone helps each other and I feel part of this community," she said.

She said becoming an Australian citizen was a "dream come true".
"I always dreamed of coming to Australia, I came here, I found a job and in the end I finally got the citizenship, I feel honoured," she said.
Ms Cioni thanked Lithgow Council and the community for making her feel welcome.
Lithgow City mayor Cr Ray Thompson congratulated the new citizens on their commitment of being part of Australia's future.
"Today marks a special and important step in the lives of each of you, our conferees and for those sharing this occasion with you, because today you will become Australian citizens," he said.
