The four person Lithgow Golf Club VW Scramble has proved a happy hunting ground for three of four winners of this year's event.

Graeme Chenney, Ken Hicking and Wally Brown were part of the team that took out the major event three years ago and this year acquired the services of scratch marker Brad Cole to make up their side.
They will now advance to the next stage of the scramble at Riverside Oaks golf course and will add Professional Garry Nightingale for what will be a five person scramble.
The scoring was tight with 10 teams of the big field finishing with a net score of under 60.
It was a big day with 84 golfers playing in the scramble and a further 20 taking part in the single stableford which was held for those not participating in the scramble.
It was good to see the all female team of Julie Murnane, Carol Osborne, Jennifer Wild and Olwyn King taking part in the scramble and all reported a most enjoyable day.
Chenney, Brown, Hicking and Cole carded a score of 57.62 nett edging out the runners up team of Brian Judge, Don Farnsworth and Greg and Brian Giblett who finished on 58.75 nett.
The closeness of the top three was again shown with the third placed team consisting of Steve Hall, Jeff Geddes, Paul Bosman and Peter Haley a couple of points of a shot back on 58.87 nett.

At the presentation the club's Paul Stewart who worked tirelessly to bring the scramble together thanked VW Bathurst for their sponsorship and also Lynne Ritchie and Geoff and Robyn Houlison for manning the barbecue and feeding the masses.
The single stableford that was also held on the day attracted 20 participants making for over 100 golfers who enjoyed the early chilly conditions on the well manicured golf course.
The winner was Pat Wall on 37 points from runner up Dave Muir on 34 points.
Vouchers went to Darren Hunter, Troy Luka, Dave Warren, Richard Mara and Greg Hunter. Vouchers cut out on 31 nett on a countback. Nearest the pin was Max Nightingale.
Wednesday nine hole competition (13/1):
Again in was a big field with the winning voucher going to Michael Bennett on 23 points with runner up being Gary Marshall on 21 ocb and in third place was Tallan Egan also on 21 points.
Vouchers went to Peter Williams, Carlos Garibotto, Paul Stewart, Jeff Geddes, Leo Murnane, Scott Hunter, Geoff Houlison, Steve McCann, Brian Giblett, Les Barnes, Glen Newton, Darren Healey and Rob Peachman. Vouchers cut out on 17 nett ocb. Nearest the pins were Dave Warren and Chris Keller.
Friday nine hole competition (15/1):
Winner was Michael Casey on 22 points from Harry Bender on 20 points. Vouchers went to Rob George, Al Glendinning, and Blake Bender. Vouchers cut out on 18 points ocb. Nearest to the pin was Harry Bender.
