A man has faced court on Thursday, December 3 after being charged with weapon offences following an alleged confrontation at the Lithgow Correctional Centre.

It is alleged on Wednesday, October 28, that the 28 year old man produced two makeshift weapons and threatened another inmate who was using a telephone at the correctional facility.
Correctional officers intervened, seizing the weapons and police were notified.

Following further inquiries into the incident, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor attended a Parklea Correctional facility on Wednesday, December 2 and arrested the man.
He appeared in Parramatta Local Court after being charged with armed with intent commit indictable offence and affray. The accused made no application for bail, with the matter listed for mention on Thursday, December 10.
