LDCA secretary Ben Sheehan said the boys seemed happy to be out on the pitch.
"The game was good and not surprising a few of the boys from the Lansdowne team still have it after years out of the game," he said.
"I have my first game this Sunday and we are every excited to test out the new kits."
Sheehan said it was nice to kickstart the competition after a few weeks of setbacks.
"I'm already looking forward to getting it back on Friday night in January," he said.
Sheehan said this was a good first match to start the competition but hoped to see some big scores in the coming weeks.
