The laneway that connects Main Street to Woolworths has recently had a display installed to honour the committment and sacrifice of our service men and women for this November, 11.
The display was the work of the Lithgow Men's Shed who created the soldiers and nurses cut outs as well as Tidy Towns' long serving member, George Quinell.
Mr Quinell painted the images on the map of Australia as well as composing the poem acknowledging the soldiers in World War I and World War II.
In the first verse of the poem, Mr Quinell has written:
"On this special day we remember them, they were brave and bold and free.
They fought not in vain, though they fought again to save the likes of you and me.
With the battle o'er, they came home once more, from those lands across the sea.
A nation's pride was born on that fateful morn, Men of the ANZAC."
The poppies are also a significant symbol of war remembrance and have been displayed proudly in the laneway.

The group hopes people enjoy the laneway given the recent cancellation of the annual Remembrance Day service in Queen Elizabeth Park as a result of COVID-19.
Michael Cuthbert, Secretary of the Lithgow Sub-Branch penned an announcement to the community that expressed regret that the commemoration couldn't go ahead.
'It is with great regret that we have to advise that this year's Remembrance Day service will NOT be going ahead in Queen Elizabeth Park, Lithgow, due to circumstances beyond our control,' the announcement read.
The Sub-Branch wanted to stress that the Executive and Members of the Lithgow City R.S.L. Sub-Branch, wish to thank everyone who attends this day of Remembrance of the service and sacrifice of all our men and women of our Defence Force, Past and Present.
They added that if anyone wishes to lay a wreath or flowers at the Cenotaph at 11am on the 11th Day of the 11th month, please feel free to do so.
