Hawkless, a huge car racing fan has seen a lot in his time, with his first Bathurst 1000 dating way back to 1982 and he hasn't missed a race since.
"I love the thrill of being so close to the cars on the track and with my media pass I can get much closer to the action," he said.
Hawkless thinks this year Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup have what it takes to win the great race.
"They have both won the race together plenty of times," he said.
As for if he has a favourite driver, the answer is simple.
"Back in the older days of Bathurst my favourite drivers were George Fury and Mark Skaife, both drove for Nissan back then in the 80's and 90's and I'm still good friends with them today," he said.

"For today's drivers it would probably be Craig Lowndes as I am good friends with him and get a Christmas card off him every year."
Hawkless has plenty of memories from his time at the great race, but there are two that stand out to him.
"It would be George Fury getting pole in the Nissan Bluebird in 1984, and Nissan winning their first Bathurst 1000 in 1991 with Mark Skaife and Jim Richards winning that year," he said.
Hawkless's photos have been featured in the Lithgow Mercury since 1986 and he said he has kept all the copies that have his photos in them.
We will continue to update the photos as they come in over the weekend.
