Council is asking all residents in the areas of Portland, Wallerawang, Lidsdale, Cullen Bullen, Glen Davis and Rydal to continue to conserve water due to the WaterNSW water main break reported on Tuesday, October 13.

Residents in these areas are urged to limit usage to necessary water use and conserve water until further notice.
Council is asking residents to not utilise water for washing cars, watering lawns and gardens, limit shower times, only wash clothes and dishes as necessary.
They also urge the public not to fill tanks and baths as this is placing additional demand on the system and depletes water in storage reservoirs.

Council stated that there is sufficient water to maintain a safe supply and if residents are water wise Council and WaterNSW will not need to implement emergency measures.
Should these measures need to be taken to provide a supply of water, the water provided will be untreated water and may not be fit for human consumption.
Should this occur residents will be required to boil water for an extended period.
