Parts of the Glen Davis and Glen Alice Road will become a much smoother journey thanks to more than $1 million in funding announced this week.
The funding which totals $1,145,868 from the Australian Government will be spent to reseal sections of Glen Davis Road and Glen Alice Road in the Capertee Valley.
The grant funding, awarded under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and the Heavy Vehicle Program, will build upon road improvements and maintenance undertaken by the Lithgow City Council given local government boundaries.

The projects involves 4.8 kilometres of new bitumen seal, commencing from the intersection of Glen Alice Road and Glen Davis Road, heading towards the village of Glen Davis, and additionally the resealing of Glen Alice Road from Capertee to Kandos.
Federal Member for Calare and Minister for Decentralisation and Regional Education, Andrew Gee MP met with representatives from Lithgow City Council, to inspect the project sites last week.
"It's great to see funding from the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and the Heavy Vehicle Program going to such worthy projects," Mr Gee said.
"The Capertee Valley is a breathtaking part of the world, which is increasingly attracting tourists and tree-changers.
"The local community have also lived through some challenging times of late with the drought and black summer bushfires.
"Making this road safer and smoother will not only assist with traffic management, but it supports local jobs with the project being delivered by local people."
It is expected that the sealing of the roads will also reduce the need for road maintenance.
The project commenced in September and completion is expected by December.
