The Bureau of Meteorology's MetEye is indicating the most widespread chance of snow is between 10pm on Friday night and 7am on Saturday morning.
In the news:
Forecast indicates snow could fall in the city of Lithgow, or around it, it could also fall in Bathurst, Orange, Oberon and Blayney.
The snow is expected to clear up by late Saturday morning.
If the predicted snow arrives, it will come amid a cold weekend for the Central Tablelands, with Lithgow set to struggle to a maximum of only four degrees on Saturday - eight degrees below the long-term average for September of 12.1 degrees.
