It was again a hard slog for the majority of golfers with the course again saturated following the week's rain.
The difficulty of the conditions could be seen by the ordinary scores returned with only a handful of golfers playing to their handicap.
The best stableford score of the day came out of B grade with early morning golfer Don Wolfenden posting 38 points, a score that was not bettered throughout the day.
Wolfenden who plays off a handicap of 10 has been in good form of late and he continued his form on the weekend.
The B grade runner up was Pat Wall with 37 points and the best scratch score was returned by Jeff Geddes.
A countback was needed to separate the place getters in a grade, with five marker Michael Hunter taking the major voucher from Brock Egan with both golfers carding 37 points.
Best scratch score went to Jonathan Van Veen with a 77.
A countback was also needed in C grade with the award going to Jo-Anne Cornwell who plays off a handicap of 24.
Runner up was young Blake Goldspink with the placegetters both finishing on 34 points.
Rob George had the best scratch score with 99.
The difficulty of the day can been seen by the fact that vouchers went down to 31 points on a countback.
Voucher winners were Max Mc Cann, Dave Thompson, Jason Murray, Ross Harrington, Brandon Lloyd, Dennis Wallace, Justin McCann, Anthony Oldfield, Brad Cornwell, Blake Bender, Thomas Stapleton, Leo Murnane, Trevor Cameron, Peter Hall, Luke Oldfield, Brad Gordon, Harry Bender, Anthony Boza, Don Lovett, Geoff Thompson and Brian Bourke.
Nearest to the pins went to Tom Jennings, Justin McCann, Bill Oldfield, Paul Bosman and Dave Titcume.
The rain belted down all Wednesday, September 9 for the nine hole competition but surprisingly there was four hardy golfers that took to the fairways.
The winner with 21 points was Heath Egan.
Friday, September 11 saw better weather and a bigger field with Brian Quick taking the honours with a score of 22 points.
In second place was Max Nightingale on 21 points and third was Michael Bennett on 20 points ocb.
Voucher winners were those with 19 points ocb and better and they were Ricky Cohen, Jeff Geddes and Kev Hughes.
Next week's Saturday competition will be a stableford.
