Member for Bathurst Paul Toole visited the cottage to welcome new Nurse Unit Manager Moreen Macleay and oncology pharmacist Sarah Bowen.

Ms Macleay has worked for 16 years within the health sector and said her past working experiences have helped strengthen her progress to this new role.

"I am thrilled to be going from a clinical environment to a management role," she said.

Ms Bowen is an experienced paediatric and oncology pharmacist with previous roles at Westmead and the Children's hospital.

"I have been exposed to both young and older generations," she said.

"I am looking forward to this position. This move is a big step but is a great opportunity to further my career," Ms Bowen said.

Bathurst Health Service general manager Cathy Marshall said the two positions were essential to the operation of Daffodil Cottage.

"Daffodil Cottage is a critical part of the Bathurst Health Service and for many of us in Bathurst, it's very close to our hearts," she said.

"Mooreen has been with the cottage in a different role for many years and has a passion for oncology nursing.

"Sarah is a very experienced paediatric and oncology pharmacist and brings with her new and innovative ideas," Ms Marshall said.

Daffodil Cottage provides treatment for people across the Bathurst, Lithgow, Oberon and wider region.

Daffodil Cottage Advisory Council chairperson Genevieve Croaker said the region was fortunate to have this service.

"It makes a major difference for our patients, with less stress for these individuals and their families," she said.
