If you're a young person between the ages of 12 and 24 and you live, work or study in the Lithgow LGA you are eligible.
Youth Council is made up of a group of young people who are passionate about improving the lives of young people in the region.
They come from all areas in the LGA, bringing a wealth of ideas, interests and talents.
Being part of the Youth Council, duties will include working together to organise annual Youth Week events, advise Lithgow City Council on issues that are important to young people and have consulted with state and national agencies regarding the impact of recent drought, bushfires and Covid-19 on the community.
Lithgow City mayor Cr Ray Thompson said it was important for the youth of Lithgow to have a voice.
"There's no point in us telling the young people of the region what they want and need, we really need to hear from them," he said.
"They are the ones who understand the issues faced by our young people and they have brilliant ideas about how to improve their lives."
Youth Council meets on the third Monday of every month at 4pm. Nominations are now open and will close on September 30.
