Despite the less then ideal weather we had 16 bowlers front up on Saturday, August 8.
Our triples championships have begun with Steve Jackson's team taking on Mark Perry's side.
Perry, Joe Menchin and Daryl Kegan drew first blood but then struggled against Pommie Williams, Barry Jackson and Steve Jackson.
With Williams and Barry Jackson playing well and skipper Steve in good form they ran away with the game restricting Perry to only a few shots.
In the socials Jason Nunan led his side of Boon Hayley and Peter Matchett to an early seven to nil lead before leading throughout to defeat Ross Harrington, Jed Fraser and Ian McMillan by 18-13.
In a game of pairs Kim Alexander and Peter Williams got away to a flier to lead six- nil after five ends.
Their opponents Craig Brown and Ron Vidler stormed back to lead 11-10.
Alexander and Williams got away to another good lead but Brown and Vidler levelled on 17 all but they then dropped a three for Alexander and Williams to win 20-17.
Sanity prevailed on Sunday, August 9 with the major singles semi final between Craig Pugsley and Steve Jackson deferred due to the fowl weather.
Bowlers are reminded that we have our triples and minor singles to be played as soon as possible.
