Apply Sunscreen, although during winter we don't get that much sun here in Lithgow, it is important to keep applying sunscreen, even on the murky, clouded days.
The sun's UV rays can pierce through the thickest of clouds and still cause damage. Sunscreens that are moisturising, with an SPF of 15 or higher are the best for your skin.
I also recommend buying a humidifier, due to the cold weather, our body's are dried out which also causes dried lips.
Adding a humidifier to your home creates moisture within the air, and helps moisturise the skin. Simply having it on for an hour before bed will make a difference.
It's also extremely important to ensure your exfoliating your skin. During winter the constant change between indoor heating and outdoor air dehydrates your skin cells and causes them to die out faster than the summer season.
Therefore exfoliating the dead skin cells away helps new skin cells to come in without any obstruction, I recommend exfoliating twice a week, although the amount can change depending on your skin type.

Winter can be a hard time for people's skin. Cold weather and warm homes often leave the skin feeling very confused.
Our top tips for you to keep your skin looking and feeling the best it can be are:
- Don't be afraid to modify your skin care routine for winter
- Cleanse morning and night
- Up the intensity of your moisturiser and look to add a serum that contains Hyaluronic acid.
- Hyaluronic acid is the key to plump, hydrated skin. It allows the water within your skin to slow release over the day when needed and providing ultimate hydration.
- Try a liquid exfoliant as in these already harsh conditions we don't need a harsh product to strip or irritate the skin any further.
- Drink lots of water and stay hydrated, your body and your skin will love it.
- Don't forget to give your body some love.
