This year Quota gave gifts to residents in all three nursing homes within the Council area on Mothers and Fathers Day.
Emergency gift bags were donated to the Lithgow Crisis Centre for women escaping domestic violence. Gift bags were also given to Lithgow Hospital's emergency department for women and men who have been admitted to hospital in an accident situation.
Quota Clubs of Bathurst and Blackheath joined members at the CWA Rooms in Wallerawang for a get-together for sharing ideas, food and fun.
Guest speakers from Dementia Alliance, Lithgow Information Centre and LINC services attended our social nights.
We celebrated our 68th birthday on Tuesday, March 3 at the Blue Sky Restaurant. President Noela Williams presented Margaret Hickie with a 30 year Certificate of Service, pin, flowers and a celebration cake.
Members attended all schools in our area on school presentation days.
The winners of the Judy White Scholarship award were Harley Tonkin from Portland Central School, Caleb Traish and Ashleigh Kitchener at Lithgow High, and Mackenzie Stewart from La Salle.
Quota's Citizenship Award at Lithgow High School was won by Piper Anderson.
On a sad note our club was saddened at the death of long term members Margaret Buckley and Jess Bennett to cancer.
Trish Smith resigned due to ill health. Our membership is now down to 21 members.
The Covid-19 virus has caused a lot of angst in the world this year, with meetings being cancelled and also our Trivia Night.
In May, president Noela, set up a conference call line for members to communicate with each other.
Our AGM was also by conference call.
Trish Beljon was presented with her 40 years of Service Pin and Kay Adams presented with her 35 years of Service Pin at a dinner at the Lithgow Workmen's Club where social distancing was the norm.
