Following recent rain events, a large tree has dislodged, causing erosion and failure at the edge of the road embankment.
The temporary road closure will commence from Tuesday, September 15 to allow Council contractors to carry out stabilisation and rectification works to the affected area.
Works are expected to be completed on Friday, September 18, weather permitting.
Access to Hassans Walls Lookout through the Hartley Valley Road / Browns Gap Road entrance will be available whilst works are carried out.

Council wishes to advise residents of the closure of the Fields Road, due to road upgrade and sealing works.

This work is being performed to reduce Council's maintenance costs, improve motorist safety and ensure Lithgow's road assets best serve community needs.
Residents and motorists should note that the road will be intermittently closed to traffic until further works are completed.
The patience of affected residents and motorists is appreciated and Council advises that changed traffic conditions detours must be observed whilst travelling through the area.
Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

Lithgow City Council will be immediately closing the Upper Turon Road bridge.
An assessment and inspection of the bridge on Upper Turon Road in the vicinity of Turon Gates has raised concerns of the structural integrity of the asset.
Due to the risk this poses to public safety, the bridge has been closed with immediate effect.
The community and public are required to cross the river through the adjacent causeway, until a temporary bridge can be installed as a matter of priority in early July 2020.
Once this temporary bridge is installed, Council will commence the design and construction of a permanent replacement bridge.
As works progress, please be aware that traffic conditions will change in this area.
Motorists are advised to exhibit caution and advanced warning signage will be in place to warn all motorists. Council appreciates the community's assistance, patience and understanding in this matter.
