Police have charged a man after he allegedly crashed his utility into a brick wall, takeaway shop and car while allegedly drink-driving in the Blue Mountains on Friday.

Operation Stay Alert, a police operation targeting speeding, drink and drug driving, driving while fatigued, mobile phone, helmet and other traffic offences began at midnight on Friday and ends on Monday night.

Police say at about 8:40pm on Friday 5 June, a 45-year-old man allegedly crashed his Mazda BT-50 utility into the wall, shop and car on Ross Street, Glenbrook, before allegedly trying to leave the scene.

Police say he was detained by a witness before officers from Blue Mountains Highway Patrol arrested him and took him to Springwood Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.102.
The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice (CAN) for drive with mid-range PCA, negligent driving, not give particulars to other driver, and not give particulars to owner of damaged property.
He is due to appear at Penrith Local Court on Thursday 3 September 2020. The man's licence was also suspended.
