At 9.55pm on Tuesday, police attached to the Blue Mountains Highway Patrol stopped a Volvo b-double combination on the Great Western Highway at Blackheath.
This part of the highway, between Lapstone in the east and Marrangaroo in the west, is not an authorised b-double route, with the maximum allowed combination length being 19 metres.
The 25-year-old male driver from Victoria was directed to the Mount Boyce heavy vehicle inspection station where the vehicle was measured at 25.5m long.
The driver was issued two infringements, including for 'Use Class 2 Heavy Vehicle not in accordance with authorisation' ($674) and 'Driver not record information as prescribed by national regulations' ($168).
He was directed to split the trailers before continuing on his journey.
