Along with senior vice president Cass Coleman, the leadership team is keen to promote Labor in the Lithgow area as a progressive party that cares about people and the community.
"It's an honour to be the first woman president of the branch, the winds of change are reaching Lithgow and we all have to be prepared to embrace it," Ms Gregory said.
Ms Gregory said that as president she would like to see the young people of Lithgow develop an interest in politics.
"Many people see 'politics' as a dirty word, something negative, but politics is about ideas and actions," she said.
"It's interesting and exciting and it's how societies progress. In this time of radical change it is important to discuss issues and come up with practical solutions to the challenges that face our community.
"If joining the Labor Party can make young people part of that process, I'll be happy."
Retiring President, Neville Castle, was thanked for his long term of office and for his service to the Party as Councillor and as Mayor.
