If so, environmentally friendly battery and mobile phone recycling is available at Lithgow City Council's Customer Service Centre and libraries.
Lithgow City Council continues to operate recycling programs for both household batteries and mobile phone components including batteries, chargers and leads.
Recycling tubes for each program are available at a variety of locations within the Local Government Area for use by residents to recycle their household batteries and mobile phones for free in an environmentally friendly way.
Battery and mobile phone recycling has been available to residents of the LGA for a several years. Since its commencement 14 kilograms of mobile phone components and 250 kilograms of household batteries were collected for recycling last year.

It is important that these problem wastes are kept out of landfill and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.
Separate tubes for batteries and mobile phones can be found at these locations:
- Council Administration Centre, 180 Mort Street Lithgow.
- Lithgow Library, 157 Main Street Lithgow.
- Wallerawang Library, Main Street Lithgow.
- Portland Library, 57 Williwa Street Portland.
