The Bushfire Community Resilience and Economic Recovery Fund (BCRERF) includes funding for Lithgow ($250,000), Oberon ($100,000) and Mid-Western ($100,000).
Phase One of this initiative is to ensure resources are flowing to communities impacted by the bushfires.
It is focused on delivering immediate funding to local councils that will start the community and economic recovery process.
The funds will deliver locally-led recovery activities, led by councils, in partnership with other organisations
Business events turbocharge recovery
I'd like to urge every Sydney based business, organisation and government department to plan a conference, meeting or business event in the bush.
People visiting regional areas in NSW for business purposes spend around 33 per cent more than those visiting for leisure, so it is important the NSW Government and organisations continue to support the regions in this way.
Through the combined resources of the Meet in NSW website, industry associations and corporate meeting planners are connected with business event venues and operators in towns and cities right across NSW.
Local venues, shops and residents are open and ready to welcome business travellers into their communities and this unified collaborative effort will match organisations with an ideal location in regional NSW for their meeting or event.
NSW Government will lead the way by asking departments and agencies based in Sydney to take meetings and events to regional NSW.
This will help businesses of all sizes, from the accommodation venue, to the caterers, the cleaners, newsagents and local restaurants and cafes - everyone in the town benefits.
These activities complement Tourism Australia's Event Here This Year campaign, encouraging event decision-makers to choose Australia as their preferred location in 2020.
Community war memorials fund now open
War memorials are places of remembrance that help us to understand our history.
It is important that we keep them in good condition through careful repair and maintenance.
Applications are now open for Round 2 of the 2019-2020 Community War Memorials Fund.
Our war memorials are precious monuments we need to cherish and protect as they give us a place to reflect and pay our respects to those brave soldiers who fought for the freedom we enjoy today.
The NSW Government provides grants of up to $10,000 to help conserve, repair and protect war memorials across NSW.
In previous rounds, Community War Memorials Fund grants have been awarded for a wide range of projects including condition assessments of war memorials, the repair of deteriorated honour rolls, and work to protect war memorial halls.
Applications will close on Anzac Day 2020.
