The first two scheduled games after Christmas were washed out with the very welcome rain but unfortunately no play against Newcastle and the Central Coast.
Batting first, the Wildfires made a very competitive 9/185. Kim Taylor starred with the bat making 65no. He was well supported by Neville Castle 36no, Tony Boyling 29 and Greg Kitchener 26.

In reply, the Highlanders reached 6/188 with only five overs remaining. Best of the bowling was Castle 2/32, Tony Burrows 1/22, Kitchener 1/24 and Barry Fitzgerald.
Both teams were very pleased with the quality of the wicket at the sportsground.
The Wildfires host Port Jackson next Thursday, followed by games against Central Coast, Qurindi and Windsor.
