Club president Greg Guest presented the trophies and thanked VW Bathurst for their sponsorship and help leading up and during the day.
He also thanked Club starter Paul Stewart who worked tirelessly over the past month to bring it all together and also the staff for their help with the catering and refreshments.
He also thanked the players that travelled from Mudgee, Oberon and Bathurst for their participation.
It was a close affair with only a couple of handicap points separating the leading teams - but it was the team of Gary Marshall, his son Dave and grandson Nathan plus Troy Luka that came away with the title.
It was a proud day for Gary who played with his family while his other son Michael and his team had already qualified by winning the Port Macquarie Scramble.
The Lithgow winners will now proceed to the next round at the Riverside course where they will be joined by professional Gary Nightingale and will attempt to make it through to the final in Queensland.
The Marshalls plus Luka finished with a nett score of 56.2 edging out runners up Brett Scanlon, Paul Cinat and Mark and James Hale who finished on 56.6.
In third place following a countback was the team of Damien Marjoram, Shane Monaghan, Ben McAndrew and Brad Gordon on 56.7.
The nearest to the pin winner was Peter Ward who picked up a beautiful watch courtesy of VW Bathurst.
A VW vehicle was up for grabs on the 18th hole for anyone that registered a hole in one, and although there were a few shots that finished close, the car remained safe.
The big events keep coming at the Lithgow Club with the first round of the all age championships sponsored by Centennial Coal starting on Saturday, February 1.
A big thank you goes out to the green staff and Volunteers who in difficult weather conditions have the course and greens looking good.
