John Kearns announced the award recipients, while Mayor Ray Thompson and Australia Day Ambassador Susanne Gervay were on hand to present the awards to the winners.
Citizen of the Year went to husband and wife duo Wendy and Gary Wilcox, who unfortunately could not attend the ceremony.
Young Citizen of the Year went to Katie Coleman for her hard work and dedication to the town.
Community Event of the Year went to the Portland Business Association for the Yesteryear Festival.
The Portland Pocket Rocket netball team were awarded with the Sporting Team of the Year for being the undefeated winners of the Lithgow netball competition.
Recognition went to the Portland Walnuts for their ongoing vintage signwriting project which has become such a feature of Portland.
Nigel Truslove received an award for his outstanding contribution to drought relief fundraising.
Sporting achievements were recognised with Mia Dunleavy taking home one for her swimming achievements and James Cathie for his success in running.
Both Portland Central School and St Josephs were recognised for the musicals they put on throughout the year.
The Portland Rural Fire Service, Portland Fire and Rescue, Cullen Bullen Rural Fire Service and Portland SES and Emergency Services were all recognised for their hard work over the past few months with the fires.
Organisers of The Portland Australia Day also recognised the Ambassador for spending her Australia Day in the local area.
Young Citizen of the Year Katie Coleman came forward to present award which was a sketch of the Portland Foundations.
