The welcome rains fell throughout the day during Saturday's Lithgow Golf Club's medal round with a good field not deterred by the wet conditions.

Once again there were those that revelled in the foreign conditions that restricted the usual 'run' on the fairways with some excellent scoring recorded in each grade.
In A grade, Harry Bender returned from a couple of weeks holiday sunning himself up north on the coast.
Bender who plays off a handicap of four had been in good form during late last year and continued his good play this year with a par round 72 to give him the A grade handicap voucher with 68 nett, the medal and best scratch score.

Runner up was Brian Judge with a 70 nett on a countback.
Kobe Hunter from B grade, returned the best nett score of the day with a 66 nett and also secured his grade's medal and scratch score with a 76.
Hunter will be hoping to take this sort of form into the two ball 'cock o' the walk final when he will be combining with his father Darren to take on the other finalists Geoff Thompson and Dave Thompson.
Runner up on 67 nett was promising junior Tallen Egan who has made his way into B grade following some excellent form.
The winner of the C grade medal and nett score was Mick Stafford on 72 nett from runner up Steve Jennings on 74 nett.
Best scratch score went to Brian Giblett on 95.
Nearest to the pin winners were Bill Oldfield, Don Farnsworth, Blake Bender, Leo Murnane and Dave Warren.
Those to play well and secure vouchers were Dave Titcume, Al Mostyn, Dean Stafford, Max McCann and Frank Mantle. Vouchers cut out on 73 nett.
Some excellent play was had on Wednesday, January 15 during the nine hole competition with the winner going to Greg Jackson with 30 points.
Runner up was Tallen Egan on 29 points and in third place, Chris Keller on 27.
Voucher winners were Don Wolfenden, Steve McCann, Tony Potts, Ken Durie, Mark Bennett and Al Mostyn.
Nearest to the pins went to Steve Jennings and Carlos Garibotto.
Friday's nine hole competition had some tight competition, with Paul Stewart coming out on top with 26 points.
Michael Casey was the voucher winner.
A good roll up has already registered for this Saturday's VW four person scramble and some great scores are predicted.
