The 81-year-old has been servicing the RFS Blue Mountains District for over 50 years as a volunteer, ensuring all NSW RFS volunteers are fed with quality, nutritious meals while out on the fire ground.
In recognition of her duties Mrs Peters was visited by NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro and Bathurst MP Paul Toole who thanked her for her services.
"It was a pleasure to thank her for her incredible service to her community," Mr Barilaro said.
Mrs Peters was also gifted with flowers at Lithgow's Australia Day ceremony.
"I'm overwhelmed by the community support for our firefighters and the canteen, I have had letters of thanks which are heartwarming and endearing," she said.

Meals for the firefighters were prepared and packaged at the mobile canteen, located at the Fire Communications centre at 4 Silcock Street, Lithgow.
Mrs Peters ensured all volunteers were given a freshly prepared meal, drinks and snack packs daily. The busiest day for the canteen saw a total of 250 meals prepared.
Mrs Peters thanked those who donated several items to help feed the volunteers.
"So many items have been given by people locally and afar including water, energy drinks, toiletries, non-perishable food, lollies, cooler bags and more," she said.
"People have offered and given practical help on a daily basis and local business people have been extremely generous and helpful."
Mrs Peters wanted to thank the Lithgow and District people for their help and generosity during the fire crisis and the canteen volunteers.
"A special thanks goes to the amazing volunteers without their help the canteen could not function," she said.
She also thanked local Coles and Woolworths stores for providing free produce to help with meals.
